Dal Khichadi

This yummy khichadi is full of proteins. Instead of rice I use Lapsi dalia –wheat porridge to make it even more healthier.

Ingredients:

  • 50 gm. Chanadal
  • 50 gm. Lapsi
  • 1 small capsicum
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 small carrot
  • 7 beans
  • 12 green peas
  • 1 tablespoon small pieces of cabbage & cauliflower
  • 2 green chilies
  • 2 teaspoon roasted groundnuts
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoon ghee
  • 250 ml water
  • salt

Method:

  1. Cut all the vegetables in chips shape.
  2. Wash dal and lapsi.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan , add cumin seeds.
  4. Now add roasted groundnuts.
  5. Add all vegetables and green chilies.
  6. Stir for a minute and add all spices.
  7. Add water and salt and boil it for 2 minutes.
  8. Pressure cook it for 2 whistles.
  9. Serve hot with chilled curd or hot kadhi.
